Humble Beginnings to Multi Specialty Hospital

St. Theresa’s Hospital started as a small dispensary in Somajiguda, Hyderabad that catered to suburban patients in the year 1960. At that time main focus on primary preventive care and nursing Care. Over the decades, this dispensary was shifted to Sanath Nagar and converted into a general hospital for the community under the wings of JMJ Sisters.

St. Theresa’s Multi Specialty Hospital is charitable institution belonging to and run by the Society of Jesus Mary and Joseph. St. Theresa’s General Hospital was officially opened on 25th of February 1974. With the passage of time, innovations in medicine and a burgeoning population brought about an evolution that transformed the institution into a multi-specialty hospital that has also nurtured as multispecialty and academic institutions. Just as illness is blind to social and economic considerations, we believe that quality healthcare is a basic right of everyone.

There is a team of highly qualified and committed Medical, Nursing and Para Medical staff working with the hospital. The hospital has facility for full time morning and evening consultations and capability to perform round the clock surgeries. We have come a long way since our humble beginnings.

The hospital has been registered for post graduate studies in the Specialties of General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics and Obstetrics & Gynecology. Young doctors are being trained to obtain their Diploma of National Board, a post graduate degree. We have entered an agreement with Texila American University to take the Post MBBS students for the MD course for 3 years for the training and Clinicals. We also have a RSSDI course Diabetes affiliated to Jaipur University, which is a 2 years diploma Course.

Constantly raising the bar, we achieved significant milestones in the year 2015 when we inaugurated the Cathlab and modular Cardiothoracic Operation theatre for Cardiac Surgeries with its cutting edge cardiac catheterization laboratory, MRI, 15 Slides Spiral CT Scan and other advanced medical equipments.

The Hospital contributes to the efficient delivery of clinical diagnostics, treatment and patient care within the latest guidelines and evidence-based medicine. It also enhances the quality of teaching available to post-graduate students at the hospital. It is with this multi-dimensional approach and unique blend of medicine and personalized care that we constantly strive to safeguard the health and well-being of the diverse communities that we serve.
