About Throat pain
Throat pain, also known as sore throat or pharyngitis, is a common condition characterized by pain, irritation, or scratchiness in the throat. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including viral or bacterial infections, allergies, dry air, smoking, and acid reflux.
Other symptoms that may accompany throat pain include difficulty swallowing, swollen glands in the neck, hoarseness, cough, and fever. Treatment for throat pain depends on the underlying cause and may include over-the-counter pain relievers, lozenges, saltwater gargles, and antibiotics if the cause is bacterial.
